The author has offered the picture of an unfortunate reality wherein research has warned that “economic impact of global shutdown could push half a billion people into privation” (Ahmed, 2020). Added to this is another alarming projection of the possibility of the poverty levels in the developing countries to be pushed back by up to 30 years.
